ONE Championship Releases Its Calendar for the First Half of 2020

The ONE Championship has announced the date and venue of its upcoming 2020 semester events. The franchise will return to some of the cities that have been promoting their shows regularly, as well as setting their flag on new 'poles'. Accordingly, the first edition was announced in Seoul, capital of South Korea.

The calendar begins on January 10 with a tournament in Bangkok, Thailand, followed by an event in Manila, Philippines. There will also be a tournament in Vietnam - in Ho Chi Minh City.
The remaining events will be held in Singapore, Jakarta, Chongqing, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Macau.

At 2020, when the Tokyo Olympics will be held in Japan, each promoter will have a hard time organizing their local event, yet ONE announced that it will hold a concert in Tokyo in the first half, specifically on 5. April (Sunday).
According to Kenji Osawa's comment, this edition could still take place at Saitama Super Arena. In addition, another tournament in Japan is scheduled to be held in the second half of the year.

ONE Championship CEO and President Chatri Sityodtong said in a statement that there will be at least 50 events at 2020:

- “2019 was a pivotal year for the ONE Championship. We have been able to extend our reach and deepen our involvement in our key markets in Asia. We held our first events in Japan and Vietnam. We rely on daily and other live broadcasts to the US and India. For 2020, our goal is to hold a minimum of 50 events, including smaller shows like the ONE Hero Series China and the ONE Hero Series Philippines, as well as the ONE Warrior Series and ONE Esports. If all goes according to plan, we look forward to hosting our first events in the United States, India and Korea at 2020. We will also continue to focus on developing the next generation of martial arts stars, as well as push the boundaries and expand our reach, frequency and engagement in all major geographic regions over the next year. ”

It is worth remembering, however, that while nothing has yet been confirmed for the US and India, serious initial discussions have been underway in this direction for some time.

With three events coming up in the next three weeks, 2019 is far from over for the ONE Championship. But Chatri is already excited about the progress his promotion should make on 2020.
