An adaptation of the TV series "Yurucamp" (aka "Laid-Back Camp") will premiere on TV Tokyo and other broadcasters on January 9.
Each episode will also be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video the day after the television broadcast.
The drama is based on Afro's original manga series, currently published in the Comic Fuz manga application. It has over 2,5 million printed copies.
The story begins when a high school girl named Rin Shima goes to a solo camp on a lake on a winter's day. But her peace is disturbed when she meets Nadeshiko Kagamihara, another high school student, who was lost after visiting there in an attempt to see Mount Fuji. As they share Rin's curry-flavored ramen, Nadeshiko is mesmerized by the spectacular view of Japan's highest peak.
The drama will feature episodes following the manga's script almost authentically, being filmed in carefully selected locations, according to the producers.
Actress Haruka Fukuhara plays Rin, while Nadeshiko is played by Yuno Ohara. Members of the school's Outdoor Exploration Club, President Chiaki Ogaki and Aoi Inuyama, are represented by Momoko Tanabe and Yumena Yanai, respectively. Sara Shida was cast in the role of Rin's friend Ena Saito.
