Kanoa, Japanese silver medal surfer, sends a message in Portuguese to Brazilians
With severe criticism from Brazilians on the social network, to reach the Japanese surfer, he could not contain himself and sent a message in Portuguese.
Kanoa Igarashi, 23, a Japanese surfer and silver medal winner at the Olympic Games, seemed to be getting off on a wave at the beginning, when criticism began on the social network Twitter, after beating Brazilian Gabriel Medina on the 27th of this month.
He scored higher than the two-time world champion and went on to dispute the dreamed gold medal. It was the beginning of severe criticism against him, as the green yellow unconformed fans felt that the Japanese referee favored him.
Some comments like “this account is fake” and even curses made him post a message in the language that the Brazilian people understand. It wasn't automatic Twitter translation. The surfer is multilingual and learned Portuguese while training in Portugal. Speaks 5 languages, including Japanese and English as it was created in the USA.
