After finishing his contract with the UFC, Paige VanZant - 26-year-old MMA star - opted to sign with the biggest promotion of 'no gloves' boxing or 'Bare Knuckle Boxing' in the world today.
The news was disseminated firsthand by the renowned journalist Ariel Helwani, from "ESPN americana" and confirmed by specialized sites such as "MMA Fighting" and "Fight Bananas", among others.
After suffering a loss to Brazilian Amanda Ribas at 'Ilha da Luta' (UFC 251, at Ilha Yas), last month, the American concluded her contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and even turned down an offer from Bellator MMA - promotion owned by ViacomCBS - preferring to sign with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), 'no gloves' boxing show, whose president is David Feldman.
What weighed on Paige's decision, according to what has been reported by the American media, is that the negotiation exceeded the mark of US $ 1 million dollars, in addition to other related gains. The amount is much higher than what VanZant won in the UFC.
The millionaire contract with the Philadelphia-based promotion provides for the American to make her boxing debut 'without gloves' later this year, probably in November.
Paige's MMA cartel consists of eight wins and five losses, while inside the UFC it was five wins and four losses. She competed in the octagon as straw weight and flyweight.
It is worth remembering that the current champion of the female category of BKFC, Bec Rawlings, already lost to VanZant by knockout in the UFC, still in 2016.
Interestingly, VanZant has become a celebrity in the USA for some time now and she will be able to take the sport of “Bare Knuckle Boxing” to a new level.
Anyone who can watch the dance reality show “Dancing With the Stars” - equivalent here in Brazil to the 'dancing of the famous' - knows of its power with the public in the land of Uncle Sam.
Another proof of his popularity is the number of his followers on Instagram (2.7 million), more than Gina Carano (1.1 million), a film actress and former MMA fighter, with much prestige in that country.
By the way, Paige always commented that he made more money with his Instagram posts than fighting in the UFC (and it sure must be true) ...

Titãs Fight Communities with MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu fights in Florianópolis - SC
Little by little, we came back to see some movement in the Brazilian MMA scene. Inspired by the MMA events currently held in Japan and in some other countries on the Asian continent - besides the USA, of course - promoters, athletes and coaches promise for August 9th, in Florianópolis-SC, the Titãs Fight Communities, with fights MMA, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu (with and without the gi).
Athletes from the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and São Paulo have already confirmed their presence on the 'card'. There is still the possibility of including two fighters from Cuba.
The event will take place in the Chico Mendes community, lacking in this type of entertainment and the organizers' intention is to promote sport as a form of social inclusion, in addition to revealing new names for world MMA, like the international fighter Mauricio “Bad Boy”, who still maintains the CT Guetto Diamond Chico Mendes Fight Project. In addition, prosecutors will also collect food for those in need, because while many people are gradually returning to their activities and others remain safe at home, there are thousands on the peripheries who have lost their jobs and are unassisted in many ways.
Titãs Fight Communities - which has the support of community president Chico Mendes Edson Jesus - will be the 1st event to return to Florianópolis after the total stoppage of the city due to the coronavirus pandemic, and it will be done responsibly.
The event can be held with the public and its creators will place the chairs at a safe distance, as part of the necessary safety measures, in addition to requiring the use of masks by sports fans and making alcohol at the box office available to everyone.
According to organizer Thiago Lapolli Fiorenzano da Silveira, also known as “Tubarão”, Titãs Fight Communities has everything to be one of the most beautiful events ever organized in the southern region of Brazil.
SUPPORT NOW, FOR CHANGING A LIFE YOU GENERATE A CHAIN REACTION THAT CHANGES REALITY:
The participating athletes agreed to fight for free to promote the sport and are paying for their visits to the competition, as the event is running without financial income, such as tickets or registration, and is entirely dependent on volunteer work and donations of materials. There are already a few supporters.
Still, the organizers need to pay for an ambulance to ensure the fighters' safety, as well as the services of a professional rescuer, renting the octagon, chairs for the public present, purchase of hygiene supplies, among other items.
All this movement is important because it will give opportunity to young people who dream of following the path of sport, because if a child is not guided by the right people from an early age, the whole society may suffer later.
For this reason, the creators of the competition are open to establish partnerships with sponsors who want to link their brand to Titãs Fight and also to the CT Guetto Diamond Chico Mendes Fight Project (social project).
- “And whoever can help with any amount, please contribute to our Vakinha. Don't be ashamed to donate the minimum amount, everything is valuable for the event to exist and many objectives are at stake. Thank you very much. ”- thanks Thiago Lapolli,“ Tubarão ”.

As the world accepts to live with the global pandemic of the new coronavirus, sports are slowly returning. Likewise, Lethwei is looking to resume its growth and expansion, and for this, the leading Burmese sport organization, the World Lethwei Championship (WLC), is back in business.
Lethwei, for those who don't know, is widely seen as the most brutal combat sport in the world. Competitors fight without gloves. Punches and kicks are allowed, as well as elbows, knees and headbutt, in addition to a variety of falls.
World Lethwei Championship events are shown on the UFC Fight Pass in North America.
Who is looking for this return of the modality is the fighter Souris Manfredi, born in Besançon, France, who has made history and is climbing the 'ranking' of the World Lethwei Championship, after achieving the first victory in the newly created women's division of the WLC still in 2019.
Manfredi, known as “the queen of Lethwei”, recently fought on January 31, at Thein Pyu stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, during WLC 11: “Battlebones”. On that occasion, she beat the athlete Tran Thi Lua, from Vietnam, by knockout in the second round.
Now the Frenchwoman wants to return to showcasing her unique fighting style to UFC Fight Pass fans.
Meanwhile, Manfredi plans to fight every month, alternating modalities:

I need to fight!
They say that women are not powerful enough, here is my 'record' in sports
35 Fights - 29 W (17 KO) - 5 L - 1 D
I think it shows who I am.
I can do the show for you! ”- wrote Souris Manfredi, on his official Facebook page.
European fighters Diogo “tKD” Calado and Nauzet Trujillo, recently hired for the promotion, will also appear on the next WLC cards.
The Portuguese Diogo Calado (39-17-0), 29 years old, won the titles of Enfusion World Champion, WBC European Champion, ISKA European Champion and Strikers League Champion.
The Spanish Nauzet Trujillo (40-7-1), won the champion titles by ISKA, IPCC and WMC.
Lethwei's biggest stars are also looking forward to returning and the upcoming events will be full of talent, who are excited to finally be back in the ring.

The ONE Championship hosted its first 'live' event after a four-month break due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (Sars-Cov-2), the virus responsible for the Covid-19 disease, which led the organization to temporarily stop its shows scheduled for the months of March to May. But now the franchise has returned to action in the heart of China.
Hua Fung Teh, president of the ONE Championship group in China, was delighted to see the organization's return to his country.
Upon resuming its activities, the promotion held two 'fighting cards' without an audience in Shanghai, with ONE Hero Series 13 taking place on Saturday night (June 20), while ONE Hero Series 14 took place on Sunday night ( June 21th ).
The ONE Hero Series 13 card consisted of three MMA fights and two ONE Super Series kickboxing fights. The ONE Hero Series 14 featured three MMA fights and two kickboxing.
Highlight for the 'main event' (or 'main event') of ONE Hero Series 13 starring the native of Sichuan, Ze Lang Zha Xi, and the new one at ONE, Liang Hui.
The two had already fought a few times in Chinese mixed martial arts events and again the athletes in the middleweight category gave "everything of themselves" inside the ring.
After the match ended, fighter Ze Lang Zha Xi won another victory over Liang by unanimous decision of the judges.
With the result, the Enbo Gedou representative improved his record in mixed martial arts to 13-4-1, while Liang fell to a professional record of 5-5-1.
In the other MMA fights on the program, it was Wang Zhen (3-5) who emerged triumphant in his fight in the flyweight category against Zou Jin Bo (4-7), obtaining a split decision victory after almost finishing the fight. fight with a rear naked choke at the last minute of the duel.
The highlight of the kickboxing was Yang Hua who spent the three rounds of his fight with Wei Zi Qin in a frantic “striking” of punches and kicks to obtain the victory by split decision of the judges.
At the end of the program, Hua Fung Teh's words showed optimism:
- “We at ONE Championship are pleased to once again host the most exciting martial arts events in the world. I would like to personally thank all fans for their continued support for our organization and our athletes. Shanghai served as the perfect backdrop for the return of the prestigious ONE Hero Series, which aims to showcase the best of China's young martial arts talents. By imposing strict health and safety measures, we guarantee priority to the health and well-being of everyone who has made these consecutive events a huge success. ”- analyzed the president of the ONE Championship group in China.
The fights were broadcast on the video platforms: Toutiao / Xigua by ByteDance, as well as on Douyin. Qinghai TV and Shenzhen TV5 also broadcast the two fight events, but both television networks showed the two cards only in China.
The next ONE event has already been called “Fists of Fury” and is scheduled for July 03rd.
The same should be done at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, in Singapore.

After racking up huge losses - which increase every year - the ONE Championship announced on Monday that it was cutting 20% of its team worldwide as a way to 'ensure its longevity'.
However, Josh Gross - a journalist specializing in MMA - commented that the layoffs go well beyond the 20% that ONE announced, with a figure "closer to 50% - 60% of its workers, which includes all freelancers hired" .
It is worth remembering that in 2018 alone, the company had losses of almost $ 59 million, totaling $ 126 million in accumulated losses.
Also on Monday, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced a $ 70 million increase in institutional investor funds. Despite this cash injection, he said job cuts in "non-essential" areas are needed to isolate the company from an expected economic slowdown.
The extra funding came from existing sponsors and a new institutional investor - a "$20 billion fund" from the United States whose identity will be revealed in the coming weeks.
The Singapore-based organization, which promotes MMA, Muay Thai and kickboxing cards across Asia, has between 201 and 500 employees, according to its LinkedIn profile.
However, the promotion that has not hosted an event since February, may resume the promotion of fight shows as of July, according to comments by CEO Chatri Sityodtong granted to AFP: Agence France-Presse, still on Monday .
But even before the return of the ONE Championship shows next month, the One Hero Series, an elimination tournament that selects fighters for the main events of the franchise, will be held in Shanghai (or Shanghai) in the next days 20 and 21 June, with ONE Hero Series 13 and ONE Hero Series 14, respectively.
The ONE Hero Series 13 'main event' will be a rematch between Ze Lang Zha Xi and Liang Hui. The two have fought a few times on the Chinese mixed martial arts scene.
Zha Xi (12-4-1) is coming from a decision victory over Bu Huo You Ga in ONE Hero Series 12 last December. It was the third consecutive victory for the WLF veteran.
In turn, Hui (5-4-1), will make his debut in ONE Hero Series. He faced Zha Xi for the first time at Kunlun Fight 45 in 2016 and on that occasion the fight ended in a draw.
Previously, all ONE Hero Series events were broadcast on YouTube. The public around the world could watch the complete event 'live' as well as its reproduction on the free video streaming platform.
But both the ONE Hero Series 13 and ONE Hero Series 14 will be broadcast only in China. It remains for MMA fans outside that country to seek the results of the events later, on specialized websites.

Saitama Super Arena will receive RIZIN 24 on September 27 (Sunday). The MMA show will count on the participation of the public, who will be able to honor the 'live' fights in the gym, but this will be limited to 5.000 people and tickets are already sold out.
